Our Story

Henderson Land Investment Company, known as Team Henderson, is a vibrant and dedicated real estate company with a rich history woven into the fabric of Champaign County. Founded in 1979 by Stephen and Lee Henderson, our roots extend deep within the community, reflecting a genuine passion for serving our clients and neighbors. The company began humbly, operating out of their family home on US Route 36 near Saint Paris, with Lee personally hand-painting each real estate sign. Their unwavering commitment to honesty, integrity, and personalized service quickly resonated with the local community, and their initial six rural listings expanded rapidly.

The year 1982 marked a pivotal moment as Team Henderson secured a building at 104 South Springfield Street in Saint Paris, reflecting their burgeoning growth and dedication to providing a welcoming space for their clients. The real estate market of that time presented its own set of challenges, with climbing interest rates and a sluggish economy. However, Team Henderson persisted, leveraging their deep understanding of the local market and fostering strong relationships with their clients. The people in the Graham district embraced their spirit and dedication, ultimately laying the foundation for Team Henderson to become the full-service real estate company they are today.

Building on Success: Expansion and Growth

Driven by a desire to better serve the entire Champaign County community, Team Henderson made the strategic decision to open a second location in Urbana in 1989. Their inaugural Urbana office was situated on Monument Square, a vibrant hub of activity in the city. This move signified their commitment to accessibility and providing convenient service to clients across the county. Later, Team Henderson relocated to a second Urbana office on East Route 36, sharing a building with Studio 36, owned by Susan and David Oelker.

In 2004, Team Henderson solidified their presence in downtown Urbana by establishing another office at 122 Miami Street, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to providing exceptional service to the entire county. Over the years, Team Henderson's strategic growth has been fueled by a deep understanding of their clients' needs and a commitment to exceeding expectations.

In 1996, Gina Roseberry joined Team Henderson's management team, bringing with her exceptional organizational skills and a profound understanding of internet technology. As office manager, Gina played a vital role in streamlining operations and ensuring seamless client experiences. Her contribution reflects Team Henderson's commitment to investing in and fostering a talented team, capable of delivering comprehensive and innovative real estate solutions.
