Situated in Frostburg, Maryland, Allegany Coal and Land Company is a reputable business that has been serving the Allegany County and its surrounding areas with dedication. The origin of our company can be traced back to the late 1800s and early 1900s when Welsh immigrants brought their skills, work ethic, and dreams to the rich bituminous coal fields of the Georges Creek Basin of western Maryland. Members of the William E. Jenkins family worked their way up into mine management through hard work, education, and the application of advanced engineering skills. Ultimately, they were able to acquire ownership of the Consolidation Coal Company's Maryland holdings, laying the foundation for the Allegany Coal and Land Company that exists today.

As a family-owned business, we are committed to upholding safe and responsible resource management, land use, reforestation, and reclamation practices.
