Our History

CWREIC was founded in 1968 by Charles S. Williams, Sr., who had a vision to develop a range of different multi-family housing products throughout the Southeast. Over the years, the company has specialized in developing and operating affordable housing, including HUD section 8, 236, 221D-4, FMHA 515, LIHTC and Permanent Supportive Housing affordable housing developments. The company also has a long history of owner-operating Assisted Living and Memory Care communities. With over 50 years of experience, CWREIC has developed and operated a portfolio of market-rate properties that have been recognized as some of the highest-performing properties on the nationally ranked Satisfacts Resident Rating Program.
