Belmond Community Apartments

Belmond Community Apartments was founded in 1971 with a vision to provide quality retirement housing in a supportive community environment. Our four apartment complexesMcBurney, Buseman, Rise, and Redder-McLaughlinoffer independent living solutions for individuals aged 55 and older, designed to eliminate maintenance burdens while fostering social engagement. We prioritize comfort and convenience through modern amenities, including updated kitchens, climate control systems, and accessible indoor hallways connecting to the Leinbach Community Center. Our nonprofit organization is governed by a local board and staff dedicated to creating a home-like atmosphere where residents thrive. Over five decades, we have expanded to 100 units, serving a community where the average resident age is 79, with 19 residents aged 90 or older.

Our focus on eliminating routine home maintenance taskssuch as snow removal and repairsallows residents to enjoy an active lifestyle. The Leinbach Community Center, named after a local physician, hosts daily activities and serves as a hub for both residents and the broader community. We maintain partnerships with local health services to support independent living, reflecting our commitment to enhancing quality of life. Our history of adaptive remodeling, including creating two-bedroom units in 2015 - 2017, demonstrates responsiveness to resident needs. Today, we remain a cornerstone of Belmond, Iowa, embodying the vision of our founders to create a retirement community that adds value to residents' lives.
