At Schwantes Apartments, we pride ourselves on being a family-owned and operated business, deeply rooted in the Anchorage community. Our story began in 1965 when entrepreneurs Frank and Marilyn Schwantes founded the company by building and managing their first apartment building in Anchorage. Over the years, they expanded their portfolio by purchasing land and developing numerous apartment buildings across Anchorage.
As the company grew, their sons remained actively involved, overseeing maintenance and building new apartments and homes alongside their father. In 1982, their two sons became part-owners of the company and assumed full responsibility following Frank's retirement in 1987. Since then, the company has continued to build and manage apartment buildings throughout Anchorage, now owning and managing 206 apartments.
